COVID-19 Update

To all Arkansas Otolaryngology Center patients:

The Arkansas Otolaryngology Center physicians and staff appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

Arkansas Otolaryngology Center is excited to announce that we are expanding patient care operations. There will be strict guidelines for our care team members and patients. Those guidelines will include:

  • For the safety of our staff and patients, over the next several weeks we will be using our parking lot as a waiting room. Upon arrival at the local Arkansas Otolaryngology Center location, please take down the telephone number provided at the entry door. Call that phone number to notify our staff of your arrival for the appointment. You will then be given instructions by our clinic staff.

  • You will be asked to wait in your vehicle until a care team member calls to notify you that you are ready to enter and be seen by the provider.

  • Upon entrance into the Arkansas Otolaryngology Center location, each patient will have their temperature checked and will be screened for symptoms of Covid-19.

  • Once in the building, it will be requested that all patients and care team members wear masks. If you do not have a mask, Arkansas Otolaryngology Center will provide one.

In addition to these new guidelines, it is requested that you call our clinic and reschedule your appointment if one of the following applies:

  • If you have signs of a respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, or sore throat in the last 48 hours, Arkansas Otolaryngology Center is requesting that you contact your primary care physician and reschedule your ENT appointment for a later date.

  • If you have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days, we ask that you call and reschedule for a later date.

  • If you have come in contact with a patient that has tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days, we ask that you call and reschedule for a later date.

  • Arkansas Otolaryngology Center does not provide community testing for Covid-19.

  • As noted by the CDC, “COVID-19 is a new disease and there is limited information regarding risk factors for severe illness. Based on currently available information and clinical expertise, older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. More information about risk factors for Covid-19 can be found at:

  • Arkansas Otolaryngology Center has enacted measures to provide a clean and secure environment for our patients. If you have risk factors for severe illness from Covid-19, you may consider delaying your appointment until after the outbreak has subsided. Because some ENT conditions require care that cannot be delayed, we are here to provide for your needs. We will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

As Arkansas Otolaryngology Center begins the process of expanding operations, we want to ensure our patients and our care team members are kept as healthy as possible. Thank you for your willingness and understanding while Arkansas Otolaryngology Center strives to serve all of your ear, nose, and throat needs.
